Days at Casa Escondida follow their own unhurried rhythm — structured enough to fit two or three dives in before lunch, free enough to spend an afternoon doing absolutely nothing but watching the tide. Here is what a typical day looks like.
5:45 AM — Sunrise and Breakfast
The kitchen opens at 5:45am for early risers who prefer a light breakfast before a first dive. Full breakfast — Filipino or continental — is served from 6:30am. The beachfront tables face east and the sunrise over Batangas Bay is genuinely one of the most beautiful moments of any stay here.
7:30 AM — First Dive
Our first boat departs at 7:30am for a morning reef dive. Typical sites for the first dive are Kirby's Rock (wall dive, 20–28 m) or Twin Rocks (reef, 8–22 m), depending on current conditions. Boat ride to most sites is 10–20 minutes. Surface interval snacks — crackers, fresh fruit, calamansi juice — are waiting on the banca when you surface.
10:00 AM — Second Dive
The second dive is typically a macro dive at a shallower site: Secret Bay, Ligaya's Garden, or one of the nearshore boulders accessible by shore entry. Back at the resort by midday, rinse gear, cameras into the freshwater station, and lunch on the terrace.
2:00 PM — Afternoon at Leisure
Some guests arrange a third dive. Others take a slow snorkel off the jetty — our resident hawksbill turtle feeds on the sea grass patch at about 80 metres from shore most afternoons. The hammock area on the garden side of the resort is ideal for nothing in particular.
5:30 PM — Sunset and Evening
The bar opens at 5:30pm with a small snack menu and cold drinks. Dinner is served from 7pm on the beachfront terrace — a set menu built around the day's market catch with a la carte additions. On Saturdays, the BBQ replaces the standard dinner service.
